Hello, everyone!
It's been quite some time since I've written, we figure it's about time.
This year has been our craziest yet and we've had some ups and downs. We made it through, though, and we are looking forward to next year. Next year, we'll have our two-person process buttoned down. We have certainly learned from everything that's happened this year.
One of the very awesome things that happened is that we have won the Consumer's Choice award for the SECOND year in a row! That is thanks to all of you. We couldn't win these awards without our awesome customers.
Another cool thing is Certificate of ESG Commitment we received from That Metal Guy . He is ESG certified. ESG (environmental, social, governance) means you have an ongoing commitment to the environment that you fulfill by recycling metals, electronics, etc.
What to expect from this winter:
As usual, we will be closing from just before Christmas, the 23rd will be our last day. That means no incoming work from the 20th on (and please do your best to pick up before we close). We will be closed through January and reopening on February 2nd. If the coming spring is like the last two, we will do our first Saturday intake that week. Though we will be closed, we always have our phone with us. And, dear cyclists, should you need us, for any reason at all...

Also, as usual, the winter is a great time for
bigger projects.
Want to electrify your bike? Now is a great time.
Need a total tear down and rebuild? Also a good time!
It's a great time to winterize your bike for winter commuting.
Buying a bike and need it assembled for Christmas? We do that, too.
Need help getting your trainer set up? Give us a call.
I will be opening the calendar for February appointments some time in the coming week.
Finally, we have been asked to give a talk about cycling safety. What are some of the questions you'd like answered? Any points you'd like to see made?
Polo
Of course, we can't forget the polo. Indoor polo starts back up on Friday, November 14th, at Silverwoods arena. I am not sure if they stay there this winter because I thought it was under renovation. If you want to know, get in touch with us or see their Insta @forestcitybikepolo.
2026
There's not a whole lot to say about the coming year, as yet.
We are hoping to do the MS Bike again this year.
Another bike show would be great, maybe somewhere centralized this time so people can come more easily. We love the Velodrome but it is a bit out of the way for most people.
We really would like to get out to some fun trails this coming year and we'd like to do them with friends. A car-pool-to-ride-n-eat kind of day. We like to do those rides on long weekends, when we have the Monday to recoup. ;)
Closures for 2025 & early 2026
Monday, November 11th: We will be closed from around 10:15am for an appointment. Whether we are back or not will depend on how that appointment goes.
Saturday, December 20th: No more new work comes in
Tuesday, December 23rd: Close for the season
OPEN AGAIN FEBRUARY 2nd
April 6th: Easter Monday
Have a wonderful winter season, celebrate whichever holiday traditions you are steeped in, and be grateful we are all still here to welcome 2026. Don't forget to raise a glass to those we've lost, then one in celebration of the people we still have the privilege of having in our lives.
